Making the right choice

Hot-melts:

Freezer grade packaging, pulp and paper roll wraps, kitchen counter tops, edge banding, hockey sticks, mattress manufacturing and general packaging case and carton sealing.

Hot-melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HM-PSA):

Feminine hygiene products, bottle labelling and self-sealing polyethylene bags are large users of PSA.

Epoxies:

Parts for the electrical power transmission industry use epoxy for encapsulations and castings. We have a number of successful fire-resistant intumescent formulas. Epoxy is widely used in hockey stick construction, floor coverings, paint brushes and rollers. A significant epoxy market is honeycomb metal-door construction and railcar skin panels where an aluminium skin is bonded to an aluminium honeycomb.

Solvent-based:
Key products manufactured with solvent-based adhesives are boats, counter-top lamination, furniture, sporting goods, commercial city buses and a variety of contact cement applications.
Water-based adhesives:

This is a growing sector since the market is transitioning from solvent-based products. The more common applications for water-based are furniture and foam construction, packaging, pulp and paper outer wraps, as well as a wide variety of materials.
